Bring Me The Head of Alberto Gonzales!
The calls for Attorney General Alberto Gonzales's head are growing louder and more confident. The AG's Chief of Staff, Kyle Sampson, has already taken the walk of shame and today, Chuck Schumer cranked it up a notch and assured that Sampson would not be a simple patsy.
"Kyle Sampson will not become the next Scooter Libby, the next fall guy," Schumer said. "Either Attorney General Gonzales knew what his chief of staff was doing — that's a pretty severe indictment — or he didn't, which means he doesn't have the foggiest idea of what's going on in the Justice Department."
This is all on the heels of a report that shows Harriet "Boffo for Bush" Miers wanted to shit can ALL the US Attorneys. Can you imagine how something like that might grind our judicial system to a halt? And this is who Bush wanted to put on the Supreme Court!
It'll be interesting to see how Big Alberto can get out of this one. I think he often forgets that he's no longer the President's attorney, but America's.
