Bush continues to drag feet on global warming
Like a petulant child, whose parents have told him he needs to clean up his room, Bush continues to delay the inevitable. But instead of dragging his feet on cleaning his room at his parent's request, Bush is dragging his feet on regulating carbon emissions, which the Supreme Court told him he has a responsibility to regulate.
Yesterday, Bush announced that his administration would begin the process of looking at increasing fuel efficiency standards, but said it would take through 2008 to make a decision, and that at the end of the process, they may decide not to do anything.
Representative Edward J. Markey (D-MA), who is the chairman of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, rightly called the announcement "a stall tactic."
