President vs. President

After Jimmy Carter went after the Bush administration this weekend - more agressively than probably any ex-president has gone after a sitting president - the administration is responding in kind. According to White House spokesman Tony Fratto, Carter is "irrelevant" and his comments were "reckless."

Just for kicks, here's a little nugget from Carter's interview with the BBC:

The almost undeviating support by Great Britain for the ill-advised policies of President Bush in Iraq have been a major tragedy for the world.

He pulls no punches. President Carter won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. He's 82 years old.
