Remembering the troops

Over 3,400 American troops have died in Iraq so far. More than 25,000 troops have been wounded in action. Iraqi casualties are estimated at 100,000 to 650,000, depending on the assessment you're looking at. The death toll of this war is quite staggering.

This Memorial Day weekend, most papers are running stories remembering lost local soldiers. The Chicago Tribune remembers a soldier from Genoa, IL. The San Francisco Chronicle profiles the 36 soldiers from the Bay Area who have died so far. 101 soldiers have died in May so far.
