Endorsement Round-up: January 29
The endorsements keep rolling in for both Obama and Hillary as we edge up to Super Tuesday. Hot on the heels of the Kennedy nods (nothing personal, Hill) comes a hat tip from Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, who also gave the Democratic response to the President's State of the Union address last night. Perfect timing.
Picking up a nice feather herself is Hillary Clinton's support from California Rep. Maxine Waters who is an influential member of the Congressional Black Caucus and certainly mixes up the idea of Obama as "the black candidate" but you don't turn down endorsements, especially from such a strong Democratic segment.
I think what all this illustrates is that the Democratic leadership (and establishment) is just as split on who to support as the rank and file seems to be. That's not necessarily a bad thing either. Leadership rises up through the flotsam and jetsam of an agitated status quo. Let's see if Obama can swim.
