Focus on the Family leader James Dobson is standing firm against John McCain and flatly states that he would "never support McCain under any circumstance." Since it's looking less and less likely that Mitt can pull off an upset, this does not bode well for McCain who can now forget about evangelical support in a general election.
Some of the reasons why Dobson won't support McCain:
• McCain opposes a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
• McCain supports funding for "embryonic stem cell research to kill nascent human beings."
• McCain was part of the "Gang of 14" compromise, preserving the filibuster
• McCain "often uses foul and obscene language." (I guess he missed the time W said he was going to "kick Saddam's fucking ass all over the Mideast".—Ed)
Dobson was quite firm on what he'll do if McCain gets the nomination: "I simply will not cast a ballot for president for the first time in my life."
