Jack Kingston: King of Irony

I love interviews with Georgia Republican Jack Kingston. He's a buffoon and completely unaware of his own ignorance, which makes watching his interviews like watching an exercise in social retardation.

Last night on MSNBC's Live with Dan Abrams, Kingston laid down the latest right-wing smear on Obama by making hay of the Illinois Senator not wearing an American flag pin on his lapel. In explaining WHY Obama should wear the pin, the best Kingston can do is say that "everyone in politics" wears them, ignoring the fact that for many it's simply an empty gesture of patriotism and done as a knee jerk reaction to other empty displays of patriotism (plastic yellow ribbon stickers—made in China—anyone?).

As if that's not enough, Kingston stumbled and stammered when Abrams noted that the Georgian waterhead wasn't wearing a pin during their interview. The irony seemed to be lost on Kingston, to nobody's surprise.
