Off the Record Remarks Force Obama Advisor Out
Samantha Power, an unpaid foreign policy adviser and Harvard professor, resigned from Barack Obama's campaign today, a week after an off-the-record remark got her in hot water.
Power was quoted in a Scotish newspaper saying, "She is a monster, too — that is off the record — she is stooping to anything,." You read that right, they even quoted has as saying "that is off the record."
Note to anyone talking to The Scotsman: Nothing is off the record.
The fact that this is a pretty innocuous charge aside, I am pretty shocked that a national newspaper would break the Cardinal rule of interviews and directly quote a subject on an non-substantive issue, because that's what this is: campaign gossip.
