AP Busts McCain, Palin on Pork Criticisms

The AP busts the McCain - Palin campaign for calling out Barack Obama on pork barrel spending despite the fact that Sarah palin FAR outpaces him on a per capita basis in Alaska:

"John McCain and Sarah Palin criticized Democrat Barack Obama over the amount of money he has requested for his home state of Illinois, even though Alaska under Palin's leadership has asked Washington for 10 times more money per citizen for pet projects."

By the way, there's nothing wrong with any senator or representative jockeying for money to apply toward projects in their home state. That's what you WANT them to do there. There's a difference between the dog whistle "wasteful Washington pork barrel spending" and appropriate earmarking for local projects. But that's not what rings with angry conservatives so nuance be damned!
