I am not going to call Sarah Palin and idiot mainly becuase I don't think she is one and to underestimate her political talent and understanding of how to sway votes would be a mistake. Next Tuesday will not be the last we see of her.
But if we are to believe her words then she has a severe misunderstanding of law and the Constitution of the United States of America. This is just the latest example:
"If [the media] convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations," Palin told host Chris Plante, "then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media."
No, the media cannot suppress anyone's First Amendment right. Censorship, as defined by the Constitution, is applied by the government upon the people, not the other way around. If we are to believe Sarah Palin's view of the matter then we better lock up Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael (Weiner) Savage, and every other conservative wind bag who shouts down guests with whom they disagree. That actually doesn't sound too bad...
