Quote of the Day: McDonalds is a Tougher Interview
Former Reagan chief of staff Ken Duberstein mocks McCain's rushed interview process with Sarah Palin. According to reports, the two only met once and she was anything but his first pick. McCain subsequently caved to advisors who pushed a candidate who would energize the base. Duberstein thinks it was horseshit:
I think it has very much undermined the whole question of John McCain's judgment. You know what most Americans I think realized is that you don't offer a job, let alone the vice presidency, to a person after one job interview. Even at McDonald's, you're interviewed three times before you get a job.
UPDATE: Duberstein also endorsed Obama citing Colin Powell's empassioned endorsement as the final push he needed:
"Well let's put it this way - I think Colin Powell's decision is in fact the good housekeeping seal of approval on Barack Obama."
But I suppose Duberstein's endorsement is "all about race" too...
Comments
Since when has Ken Duberstine been interviewing at Micky D's?
being a gypsy printer, I've changed jobs quite a bit over my career, and been on dozens of interviews. I've never once accepted a job where I've interviewed twice.
