Conservative Concern (Or Not...): What Some on the Right are Saying Today

Conservative Arizona activist Paul "I have never been wrong about an election call even when I was called crazy." Marston is predicting a McCain landslide (McCain – 310 / Obama - 228).

Ross Douthat, writing at The Atlantic, lamented, "...as America goes to the polls, I find myself stuck thinking about the lost opportunities of the last eight years, and the possibility that they may not come round again." Douthat's piece is thoughtful and it does a great job of identifying some of the core problems gnawing away at today's conservative movement. It's worth reading.

RedState.com is reporting that the Black Panthers are engaging in voter intimidation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Michelle Malkin: "So, will Michelle Obama be calling our country "downright mean" again at the end of the night? Or will she and The One get the chance to "transform" the constitution, the military, the schools, and every other aspect of American life in their image?"

Conservative genius Don Surber warns us today that liberals like to beat up old people.

"RedState.com is reporting that the Black Panthers are engaging in voter intimidation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania."

The Black Panthers??? Seriously? These people are fucking obsessed with the 60s.

Yes. Apparently two (2) black men armed with billy clubs stood as sentries at a Philly polling place. Video (the audio is virtually incomprehensible) shows the cops intervening without incident. It really isn't clear from the evidence provided exactly what these two were up to.

TPM Has more:
Fox and the McCain campaign are pushing hard on this story of two men outside a polling place in Philly dressed in Black Panther garb. People affiliated with the McCain campaign showed up, to photograph or possibly provoke an incident. The police were called. One of the two guys was asked to leave; and he left. The other guys turned out to be an official poll watcher.

Republican "Race Baiting" (?)

Per TPM: "(Obama volunteer Jacqueline) Dischell says that earlier this morning a few men who identified themselves as being from the McCain campaign came and started taking pictures of the two panthers on their cell phones. She suggested that they seemed to be baiting the panthers, and that the designated watcher may have given one of them the finger in response to the picture taking."

just like all the other fear tactics this whole campaign this one failed immensely.
