Rule #1 of POLJUNK: Don't be THAT guy
I recently had to admit to friends that I had broken the first rule of political junkydom: keep your sense of humor.
A little backstory: my parents both separately made harmless little cracks about Barack Obama in the days following the election. Because I was so invested in him as a candidate I couldn't even be cool about a little joke. Who wants to hang out with THAT guy?
So, in the interest of keeping your perspective I offer Politico's "Seven reasons for healthy skepticism." Read 'em and don't be a dick.
That said, Rush Limbaugh's "Barack the Magic Negro" is not funny and worthy of all the scorn it receives.
