America's Hopes for a POTUSILF Dashed or Reinforced?
Caribou Barbie (a.k.a. Sarah Palin) announced today that she will be stepping down from the governorship of Alaska also. CNN's Wolf Blitzer asked her if she still had any aspirations for 2010 or 2012. "No decision that I'd want to announce today," she replied.
Barbie will not complete her first term as Governor of Alaska. This, of course, makes one wonder if she would have had what it takes to compete a full term as VPOTUSILF or even POTUSILF. According to the Huffington Post, "Palin's brother, Chuck Heath, told Fox News he thought her resignation was due to the negativity from the media. According to Heath, the governor was unable to be affective while she was constantly having to defend herself against ethics complaints and the media." If she can't handle some nosy reporter, one must wonder how she would have handled the terrorists also.
So, is she bowing out to "spend more time with her family," or is she freeing herself up for a run for the Presidency?
