Every State in the Union is Drinkin' the Tea!
My tax bill this year was noticeably lower than it was last year or the year before. So, tax returns having been due last week and all, I figure I'll celebrate by sharing this video from people who apparently hold fiscal responsibility near and dear.
Personally, I think the Tea Party movement is pretty goddamned lunatic fringe, with no shortage of ignorance and racism in its midst. Just how lunatic fringe? Well, if you're not familiar, the Tea Party has proposed a Contract From America, a 10-point agenda that the Tea Party wants elected officials to endorse. My personal favorite is #4, which calls for fundamental tax reform:
"Adopt a simple and fair single-rate tax system by scrapping the internal revenue code and replacing it with one that is no longer than 4,543 words—the length of the original Constitution."
Right, because the quality and effectiveness of any tax policy is directly related to its word count.
But this video tells me that I've got it all wrong; they're not a bunch of racist lunatics. So,
